Tamarind Hut is on a 1½ acre coconut-grove 'island' surrounded by rice paddies, set in the valley of the ancient Yatagala Temple, directly inland from Unawatuna, one of southern Sri Lanka's best beaches.

The accommodation at Tamarind is a traditional wattle and daub home, with two bedrooms, teak furniture, traditional textiles and a 16-metre swimming pool.
